"Daydreaming" behind the scenes

It all started a few days ago while trying to put this web site together. I realized that the album “Daydreaming” was a mess - a haphazard collection of random photographs without any thought of concept, palette or narrative. The only connective elements in all those images are young girls in long white dresses photographed in nature. I struggled for three days to arrange them following the same color palette and I ended up choosing nine dark-green ones and discarding all the photographs with blue sky in them. Green tones looked horrible and then I muted them to give the pictures some mood and vintage feel. It's better, but I'm not quite there yet.

The series clearly needs to be worked on, but I'm going to leave it for the time being. It was inspired by the Polish photographer Małgorzata Maj and Julia Margaret Cameron's work. I got about 15 old wedding dresses and photographed my lovely cousins and friends in them - guerrilla style, improvising a lot. They are: Tajana, Jelena, Ivana, Nela, Zeljka, Iva and Marija. I am so grateful for their time, effort, trust and grace.
